Thanks for coming to check out our site! We're glad you found us and hope you enjoy the web page.
We are The Smokin' Cardinal Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, A fully professed house for The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence founded in San Fransico. A fully professed house is a group of nuns within a geographical region that is recognized by The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence that have proven to be organized with defined policies and procedures and that have proven our devotion to helping out local community. We've formed strong relations with members of its community and put together events to raise funds, spread joy, and educate people. See more about our events here.
Our goal is to promulgate universal joy and expiate stigmatic guilt. We are a voice for everyone within our community - even those who feel as though they are "on the fringe". As part of this goal we aim to educate members of our community on healthy ways to enjoy life and provide them with resources to do the right thing. We believe that being healthy is a great start to being happy and that all people deserve the right to be treated as equals and to be loved. Our house is a diverse group of people whose day jobs are intertwined in foreign languages, American Sign Language, the medical field, to special needs, and the computer realm. Obviously we come from very different backgrounds and we just so happen to be gay. The one unifying thread among us is our want and desire to be an active force in our community, rather than sit on the sidelines. We are a reflection of our community, and search for unity, while continuing to educate, and empower and love those around us.
We organized our efforts on Nov 12th, 2012 in Greensboro, NC and started to find our way down the path that has evolved the group into a well lubricated machine. Along the way, we've had our rough spots but we've learned a lot of great things. It's been a powerful adventure and it looks as if it will be a continual means of growing, learning, helping and loving for the years to come.
Everyone has a story. Everyone has purpose. No one else can define you. In today's world, we look to "remove the shackles" that we have been bound by.
We originally designed this site to serve as our exequatur (pronounced: /ˌeksəˈkwādər/) binder, the proof presented to the united council of our work, and eventually transitioned it over to the public facing home page for our house. The North Carolina community tends to skew towards mobile browsers so we felt it was important to design the site to accommodate those using phones or tablets to view this site. It's because of this design choice that the site may look different depending on what device you are looking at it on.
